Pololu Valley Engagement | Big Island Honeymoon Photographer | LACEY + MIKEY

When Lacey and Mikey asked me to take pictures of them enjoying their honeymoon on big island, I was so down! But then they told me they were only available in the middle of the day, I must admit I was scared! If you know the style of photography I typically do, you know I love to shoot those dreamy sunset shots or that early morning sunrise light. Plus shooting pictures at 12pm is really really harsh lighting!

But since I’m always up for a challenge—I asked if they were down for an adventure, and thank GOODNESS they were!

So these two and I hopped in my car and I drove us about an hour and a half away from the Kailua-Kona Pier and we went down to one of THE BEST places on the big island to shoot pictures, pololu valley. It’s got everything! (cue the Stefan pics from SNL lol): valleys, ocean, black sand, forrest, lush greenery, rivers, even cows! The only other place on Big Island that comes close is Waipio Valley, but that’s a much more difficult journey. The best part about Pololu is the hike can be done by almost everyone so it’s pretty accessible for even people who aren’t so fond of hiking.

We went down and they were such sweethearts and so easy to work with. I couldn’t stop laughing at all the fun they were having and I have so many great pics to show for it.
