Hanalei Beach Elopement | Hawaii Elopement Photographer | Kalena + Brandon

What a joy meeting up at Hanalei Beach to photograph this beautiful elopement session with Kalena and Brandon! I absolutely love Kauai and if you’re looking for a great beach to get married on look no further than Hanalei Beach on the North shore near Princeville. Kalena and Brandon had such a laid back vibe and they were such an amazing couple! Seriously— they have to rank as one of my favorite couples ever! Keep scrolling to see why.

OH MY GOD. You guys, I am dying at how amazing Kalena looks in her gorgeous bridal gown. The lace, the way it fits perfectly on her, THAT TRAIN! Goals all around. Seriously Kalena you belong in a bridal magazine! Her hat with the haku is my new favorite thing, definitely going to be recommending that to all my brides who want to wear a hat. Are you thinking of topping off your bridal look with a hat?

Kalena and Brandon were all about being playful, which I’m also all about! I had them play one of my favorite games to make couples play— kiss tag! It’s like tag, but you have to kiss the person anywhere instead of tagging with your hands. They were absolutely so cute loving on each other and just having the BEST DAY OF THEIR LIVES! Truly, though, your elopement should be the best day of your life. You have permission to enjoy it to the fullest. I’ll worry about capturing your photos so you can remember it forever.

I always scout out a couple’s elopement location for at least 45 minutes prior to the beginning of my session time. I love to find the best places to get photos with the lighting that we have, which can be different on any given day. So for Kalena and Brandon’s Hanalei Beach elopement, I, of course, had to grab some stunning shots of them on the beach. This is typically where couples choose to say their vows when getting eloped in Hawaii.

We lucked out and found this amazing driftwood altar for them to use. These are often built by locals and left just like this around many beaches in Hawaii. Free altar? We’ll take it! It made for some stunning photos of the bride and groom.

When getting eloped you may be eloping on the beach but it’s such a great idea to get a variety of images in a lot of different settings. Depending on where you are this can be easy or difficult, but a great photographer can make one location look like 5! Check out my upcoming blog post on my top 5 places to Elope in Hawaii, coming soon! You can sign up to receive helpful wedding tips planning tips from me here (coming soon). I found this gorgeous log near the beach for Kalena and Brandon to snuggle up on as the sun set behind Kauai’s gorgeous mountains!

The Hanalei Beach Elopement Vendors

This gorgeous little beach elopement session had some amazing vendors who made Kalena and Brandon’s day so special. Kalena’s amazing off-the-shoulder lace bridal gown, Moonlight gown, was provided by Flora & Lane. Her amazing bridal hat is from Gigi Pip and topped with her gorgeous haku lei (lei po’o or flower crown) provided by the amazing Blend Designs Co. Blend also provided her simple but beautiful bridal bouquet and Brandon’s Ti leaf lei. Photography was provided by Bre Rae Photography.
